10 Things by Marlon and Benry
  1. Jesus

This list must begin this way: this was not negotiable.

  2. Music

Benry plays the guitar, I play the piano. Benry plays the guitar far better than I play the piano, but we both acknowledge the power of music, especially worship music, on our lives.

  3. Juan In A Million

Because a Don Juan with two extra tortillas for less than five bucks is a great thing to have a conversation over.

  4. Skit Team at the Austin Stone

Even though it’s for the kids, it serves a great purpose for the leaders. It’s where Benry and I met.

  5. Delayed Plans

Blessings in disguise. They always keep the person in the back of your mind.

That’s deep, right? It was Benry.

  6. Common Bond

Without Jesus, Marlon and I would never have even met, let alone become friends. I mean, I really don’t even like Marlon, but Jesus says I have to.

And what could I possibly have in common with a comp sci major coughnerdcough.

Have something in your throat there, Marlon?

  7. Without a clue.

Marlon tells me often that he doesn’t know what’s coming up next (like that chord, which should be an A by the way), but he’s totally cool with it because he knows that Jesus isn’t without a clue. Now I’m okay with being without a clue. Or a home. Or money. Or anything this world has to offer. Cause even though I may be without all that, I’m not without Jesus.

  8. That would be nice.

I hear a message like, “Go spread the gospel to ends of the earth,” and I’m like, to go spread the gospel in other places to unreached people groups, “That would be nice.” Where I say, “That’d be nice,” Benry makes plans in sincerity to go do what we are all called to. A depth of trust in the Savior that could only be God derived.

  9. Sincerity

Jesus loves Marlon and me (is that the name of a movie? It should be.) I can be sincere with Jesus because I know how much he loves me. I can be sincere with Marlon because I know how much he loves Jesus.

    I love Benry, too.

  10. It’s getting late.

God places people in your life sometimes and there’s no greater evidence of God than the actual people who are in it. I thank God for Benry Yip.

And Marlon Bailey? Thanking God right now for him.
